The Volunteer Center, founded in 2004, grew out of the RSVP Program (Retired Senior Volunteer Program), a cornerstone of service in the Allen County, Indiana area since 1972. Created with a heartfelt mission to inspire and connect volunteers of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, the Volunteer Center initially centered on Allen County. In 2017, we proudly expanded our reach to include Huntington, Wells, and Whitley counties, extending our impact across northeast Indiana.
Through our Signature Programs -Coats for Kids, Free Tax Preparation, I CAN Volunteer Team and, Second Chance Legal Initiative-, volunteers address critical disparities faced by the most vulnerable in our communities. Today, we are proud to support a network of over 2,000 dedicated volunteers contribute their time and talents to more than 145 local nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and civic groups. Together, we’re creating lasting change and strengthening our communities, one volunteer at a time.
