For more than 25 years, Coats for Kids has brought our community together to make sure children have the warmth and protection they need during northeast Indiana’s cold winter months.

But a winter coat means more than warmth. A warm, properly fitting coat helps a child arrive at school comfortable, confident, and ready to learn. It allows them to participate in everyday childhood experiences alongside their peers without their family’s financial circumstances setting them apart.

Coats for Kids works directly with local schools and nonprofit organizations that already know and serve families in need. This trusted network helps coats reach children discreetly and with dignity, through familiar school counselors, case managers, and other caring professionals. Counties included are Allen, Adams, Huntington, Wells, and Whitley while also supporting local collections in Dekalb, LaGrange, Noble and Steuben. 

Each year, donors, businesses, schools, nonprofit organizations, volunteers, and community partners come together with one simple goal: making sure children in our community have a warm winter coat when they need one.
